Ganga Expressway to Enhance Connectivity

• Length & Structure: The expressway spans approximately 594 kilometers, featuring a six-lane, access-controlled design with provisions for future expansion to eight lanes.

• Route: Connecting Bijauli village near Meerut to Judapur Dandu village near Prayagraj, the expressway traverses 12 districts: Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj .

• Phases:

  • Phase 1: Covers the 594 km stretch from Meerut to Prayagraj.

  • Phase 2: Plans to extend the expressway further to Haridwar in the north and Ballia in the east, increasing the total length beyond 1,000 km.

🏗️ Construction Progress

• Initiation: The foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 18, 2021.

• Current Status: As of March 2025, over 92% of land acquisition is complete, with significant progress in earthwork and bridge construction .

• Completion Timeline: Phase 1 is expected to be operational by November 2025.
